Around the 1,000th I read the phrase “horse race” in articles about the 2016 campaign, I decided I too wanted to jump into one. But this one would be fun.

Thus: I welcome you to the first BA4B Weekly Horse Race. Here’s the deal: Each Wednesday, I’m going to issue a challenge – a photo contest, for example. If you’d like to have your submission featured on our blog, send it along to me.

This week, it’s pretty simple: Get a piece of paper and some pens, write a brief sentence starting with “I’m voting for Bernie because,” send a picture of yourself holding the sign and send it along to me. You can see what some of our friends are saying. These photos were taken by our volunteer Jess, and you can see more on our Flickr account.

Now for some rules:

• All photos will be shared under a Creative Commons share-and-share-alike license on the Bay Area for Bernie Flickr page – so make sure you’re OK with that.
• Photos need to be in by Sunday at 5 p.m. and will be published next Wednesday.
• Send photos by email to bayareaforbernie.editors@gmail.com, or tweet them at us: @BayArea4Bernie
